Wine Adventures

PASSPORT GOURMET evolved out of our travel planning services in France, Italy and Spain. We found that so many of our clients were interested in discovering food and wine culture that we decided to dedicate a site focused on wine tours and tastings all over the world. Our programs are run by American Sommelier Melba Allen, who lives in Burgundy.

We travel constantly looking for new and interesting venues and experiences. We are also finding way to reduce the cost while maintaining the authenticity and spirit of the trips we plan.

About UsOur wine tours and cellar visits are designed to take you through the sometimes confusing quantity of wine producers in each region and present them in an interesting and clear way.

Prior to taking a private wine tour we will email you a document outlining the region you are visiting and how the cellars or vineyards you will visit fit within the region and why we have chosen the particular wine houses for your visit and tastings.

We create tours that are fun and educational so you have a memorable experience, which you can use back home when buying wines or arranging dinners for friends.

As we are very involved in culinary tours and cooking classes we are able to create interesting experiences which combine the best of both region by region so tours might sometimes include a casual lunch with the winegrower or an overnight stay in a hotel in the middle of the vineyards to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the wine and Champagne paired with the typical foods of the region. And that's not all. We can offer wine barge cruises, ballooning, helicopters,and a host of other activities to compliment and enrich your oneological and culinary adventures.
