PHOTO ROUTE

Discover the best views and angles of Madrid through the eyes of an expert photographer. You'll visit Circulo de Bellas Artes cafè , Gran Via (30’s buildings), Plaza España (Don Quijote statue and all the 40’s skyscrapers),Plaza de Oriente, Royal Palace (teatro real),La Almudena,Puente de Segovia, Madrid de los Austrias, Plaza de la Villa (Madrid town hall), Plaza Mayor, Plaza Santa Ana. We'll start at Circulo de Bellas Artes located at the entrance of Gran Via, one of the most important cultural spot in Madrid and one of director Pedro Almodovar’s favourite spots.

Along the Gran Via, the real heart of Madrid with its beautiful 1930's buildings and its great vitality. At the end we'll find Plaza de Espana, and the statue of Spanish novelist Cervantes’s heroes....Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, Plaza de Oriente sits on the western side of Madrid it is on the east side of the Palacio Real. Inside the square are 44 statues of Spanish rulers. In the centre of the Square is a statue of Felipe IV.Out of the 2800 rooms of the Palacio only sixteen rooms are opened to the public. The original palace was built around 1537. And actually the Royal family...doesn't live here but outside the city.

Our next stop at Vistillas garden provides a good view back towards the Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Almudena, the right spot for beautiful landscape photography. To reach the Plaza de la Villa (the Mayor’s office building) we'll have a walk in old Madrid where the narrow streets and beautiful lighting provide many photo opportunities. We'll walk through churches , buildings, squares and the bars and clubs that transform the area at night for the classic "Movida Madrilena".

We reach Plaza Mayor probably the most known square in Madrid, it was used for such events as bullfights, jousting, and public executions. The Plaza could can hold up to 100,000 people. The arches on the four sides of the square and the life and vitality makes this a good and relaxed spot to take for beautiful pictures.

We continue to Plaza Santa Ana basically the gate to la Movida Madrilena, a newly renovated pedestrian square full of bars, theatres, musicians, street artists and a great spot to relax after the long walk and............to continue taking pictures.
