Paris... the world's most romantic capital! And also one of the photographic wonders of the world...

Learn how to take great shots and have fun with your camera from a an offbeat professional photographer.

You'll visit great monument and discover hidden gems.

No matter what camera you have, you will learn to find the right shot everytime you take your camera out.

At the tour's end please be our guest for a glass of wine and photo critique for those with digital cameras. We'll have a portable computer with us to view them.

What will you learn?

Some people believe that the more expensive their equipment, the better their photos will be. Unfortunately this is far from true. In fact, the ability to 'see' creatively is the most important aspect of striking and meaningful photography.

Training the eye and the mind to instinctively sense when there is a great image to be captured is what you will learn on our photo tours in Paris.

Learning by doing is our motto, and from the very first moment you will be taking photos, encouraged by Sab's enthusiasm and guided by his expert suggestions and advice.

Some of the many things you will learn on your personalised tour include:

• How to always be ready for the unexpected

• How to see things differently, and to always search for the unusual and the remarkable

• How to turn an ordinary scene into something exceptional

• How to make the most of poor conditions, such as low light, rain, too many people and lack of inspiration!

• How to easily understand the more 'advanced' features of your camera - you'll learn that you can 'touch that dial' with confidence!

• How to use classic techniques such as subject positioning, intelligent framing, depth-of-field, foreground interest and creative blur to transform your 'snaps' into works of art worthy of publication

• How zooming with your legs produces a radically different result to zooming with your lens and when to use each method

• How to anticipate, wait for and finally capture legendary photographer Robert Doisneau's 'decisive moment'

• How to play with light and shadow, colours and shapes, textures and urban architecture to astonishing effect

• How to let your imaginations fly...

Tours conducted in English.

About Sab

Sab is your archetypal self-taught enthusiast.

Driven by a burning desire to become a professional, Sab spent several years in the UK developing his skills in wedding photography, portraiture (adults and children), social reportage, nature and still life, before finally answering the creative call of Paris.

Since then he has been writing, painting and photographing the capital he says has 'set him free' and he likes nothing more than to share his love of the city with others.

Sab runs regular photo critiques at legendary Shakespeare & Company bookshop on the famous Left Bank of the river Seine and is a familiar figure on the Paris creative scene. An artist, poet and teacher as well as photographer, Sab lives the bohemian Parisian life to the full and has truly adopted this city as his own, or, as he says, 'Paris has adopted me'.

In Sab's own words:

"For me, Paris is, without a doubt, the creative centre of the universe. I only have to open the door and walk out onto the city streets and images and words start to flood into my head. Sometimes it's difficult to decide what NOT to photography, the choice and variety is so great.

"Paris incorporates all sides of life, from the glamorous to the tragic; from the monumental to the humble, from the historic to the modern, from the permanent to the fleeting. And there is always something new happening. You can never be bored in this city of shadows and light if you keep your eyes and ears open and learn to really 'see' what is right there in front of your eyes. Paris is the ultimate photographers heaven."
