We´ll start from Vienna Opera hause and walk through the Kärntnerstrasse to the city centre where the St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdome) is located
1. Vienna Opera House ( Wiener Staatsoper ) The Vienna Opera House built during the 1860´s has a world-wide reputation for its first-class opera performances.The building itself closely resembles Italian Renaissance.
2.Kärntenerstrasse this is Vienna's main and busiest shopping street and a great place for candid photography,the various street artists performing here will make a walk through this street with a camera much more interesting.
3. St. Stephen's Cathedral Stephansdom, one of Vienna’s most famous sights. St. Stephen's Cathedral defines the city centre and has been the heart of Vienna for centuries. It is one of the most famous Viennese sights and was built in 1147 AD. For a long time it was uncontested as highestbuilding in Europe measuring almost 137 m.
4.The St. Michael´s church Michaelerkirche was built in the first half of the 13th century. In the ensuing centuries, the church was rebuilt several times. Not long after Mozart's death, his "Requiem" was first performed in this church. Today, the Michaelerkirche is visited mostly for its interesting catacombs.
5. Hofburg This is the Imperial Palace of Vienna .It was actually a medieval castle and was extended by Habsburg dynasty during their reign and is a mix of various architectural styles. the main interests located in this vast building complex - the Museum of Ethnography ,the Imperial Treasury ,the National Library ,the Butterfly house and big collection of musical instruments and weapons and also the famous Spanish Riding School .
6. The Vienna City Hall (The Rathaus) The City Hall is one of the most splendid amongst Vienna's numerous monumental buildings. The City Hall was built in gothical style, with a tower similar to gothic cathedrals.
7.Parliament Building The parliament building on the famous Ringstrasse in Vienna has housed several different parliamentary bodies since its construction in the late 19th century. It was designed by thearchitect Theophil Hansen and built between 1874 and 1884. Hansen’s architectural concept ( in historicism style )pays tribute to Ancient Greece as the “cradle of democracy”.
8.The Natural History Museum and Museum of Fine Arts Displayed here are millions of objects - valuable stones and minerals, rare fossils and gigantic dinosaurs, as well as famous prehistoric works of art and Numerous major art works of European art history.it is considered one of the most eminent museums in the world.
9.Naschmarkt One of the oldest and most famous market in Vienna.Naschmarkt is a unique mixture of Austrian traditions and oriental influences.the shops displaying the colourful and neatly arranged fresh vegitables, fruits and spice packages makes it a perfect place for some colourful snapshots.
10. Karlsplatz. This church is spectacular. It is the biggest cathedral in Baroque style north of the Alps.
11. Belvedere Palace The two magnificient palaces on the Belvedere grounds lie in the middle of a splendid park. They were constructed for Prince Eugeneof Savoy by J.L. von Hildebrandt, a famous Baroque architect.A botanical garden and a Europe's first alpine garden are located here.
